OBCM has released new guidance to help medical system designers employ Safety Integrity Level rated motor controllers into the motion control systems typically seen in Medical X-ray, magnetic resonance, linacs, robotic assisted surgical systems.  The guidance explains what a SIL rating means, and how it can support the required risk assessment of the medical system.  It explains how controllers designed with the IEC 61508, IEC 62061, and IEC 60204 industrial/machine standards in mind, can support compliance with the IEC 60601 medical equipment standards.   Request this document any many other here.
